Keep calm and breath

I recently found myself in hospital with a cocktail of infections which included a serious case of pneumonia. I first became aware that all was not well when I couldn't breath effectively - something I had hither to taken for granted. As I lay in my hospital bed attached to oxygen I began to think about all the things we take for granted with our voice and breath. We breathe in and out naturally thinking nothing of it. When our breath fails we go into panic. Perhaps for the first time I began to understand how hard some people find it to take a breath in right down through to the bottom of the lungs and to really get that diaphragm working. Something I do without a second thought and something I teach on a regular basis. Struggling to breathe was a frightening and uncomfortable experience. A feeling that many of my clients tell me they experience when finding themselves in
